To what extent do you identify with your native language? Does it transcend being a mere medium of communication ? Does it emotionally connect you to your roots, culture and value systems? Do you even care to speak it?
This is not a doomsday prophecy, but a reality for Kannadigas in Bengaluru . Kannada the native tongue is not far from becoming an indigenous language, used lesser and lesser by the inhabitants of the city.
The Last Kannadiga is a social experiment. An enquiry on the idea that a language cannot survive the death of its speakers.
