Top 4 Kannada Movies to watch out for this January, 2019
It is the month of December, 2018 and we are ever so close to welcome a new year, the year of 2019 and hopefully, a flood of great movies to live at the cinemas. Here, we checkout the Top 4 Kannada Movies to watch out for this January, 2019.
1. #Natasarvabhouma – directed by Pawan Wadeyar and starring Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar along with Rachita Ram, Anupama Parameshwaran, Ravi Shankar and others in pivotal roles. The audience have been always been privy to Puneeth enacting the role of an ideal man but seldom have we come across Puneeth shuffle with the subject. But this time around, he has opted for a subject that is at it’s core, a horror thriller and that alone has raised the expectations around the movie. The movie would be the second outing of the same Director-Actor duo, who previously did Rana Vikrama, which was a Blockbuster and also contributing to the hype is that Appu has been unseen on screen since the release of Anajaniputra, which almost a year ago most. The makers of the movie, Rockline Venkatesh, has been vying to release the movie in time for the Republic Day.
2. #Kavacha – the last you heard Shivanna acting in a remake movie would probably have been a decade ago. This time around, Shivanna has opted to remake the sleeper hit Malayalam movie Oppam, which starred Lallettan Mohan Lal. The Kannada version has been directed by GVR Vasu, a long time associate of RGV. Shivanna in the movie plays the role of a visually impaired person and the basic premise of the movie revolves around a murder, indicating that this would be an edge of the seat thriller. Added to it the flawless performance of the man himself, the expectations have risen to certain extent and also owing to the previous hattrick success of Shivanna through Mufthi, Tagaru and The Villain.
3. #Birbal Trilogy – Case 1 : Finding Vajramuni – the title says a lot, doesn’t it? A first of it’s kind, this Neo Noir Crime Thriller, is the first installment in a planned Trilogy. The movie is directed by MG Srinivas of Topiwala and Srinivasa Kalyana fame, with the latter being a run away success at the box office. The movie has been in the news for it’s striking teaser and thematic posters, however, the movie promises to be much more. Not much has been revealed about the premise and it’s characters but the teaser throws a certain light that this would revolves around an Advocate tangled in a web of deceit and bad blood. The movie also stars, MG Srinivas, veteran actor – director Suresh Heblikar, debutant Rukmini Vasanth, Sujay Shastry and other talented cast members. The makers are vying to debut on screens in the first week of January 2019, pretty much making it the first release of the year.
4. #BellBottom – brings back those nostalgic memories doesn’t it? If it is anything to go by the title, this just isn’t a comic caper but at it’s core is a detective thriller directed by Jaya Teertha who niched a name for himself through Olave Mandara and Beautiful Manasugalu. The debut teaser indicates that the lead character Detective Divakar is high on heels investigating a high profile case. Could it be a murder? Or a simple case of abduction? Time shall tell but Rishab Shetty seems to have wove magic as Detective Diwakar and the movie also stars Shivamani, Hari Priya, Yograj Bhat, Sujay Shastry and others.
Summing up, it seems like a season of Crime, Deceit, Thrillers and edge of the seat voyages. From Puneeth Rajkumar to the multi talented MG Srinivas, Rishab Shetty and the legend Shivarajkumar himself, the month of January 2019 could end up being a feast for ardent fans and sensible audience alike, standing as a good sign for great things to follow.
