Paapu (Ramesh Aravind) enters Preethiya Mane, a mansion where five generations of his family, his father upwards are living in a trishanku or a limbo because of a curse that his great grandfather (Lokanath) has incurred from his girlfriend. The curse can be nullified only if Paapu gets married. How these five ancestors enlist others’ help to get Paapu married to Preethi Bhat (Suman), whom they think is the correct match, forms the story of Re.
