Cast, Crew, and Heartfelt Storyline Details
Written and directed by Amit Rai, Ohh My Dog serves up an engaging family investigative comedy-drama produced by Rajesh Bhardwaj, Amit Rai, and Sana Warsi. The ensemble cast is led by acclaimed actor Pankaj Tripathi as Masterji, a compassionate local teacher who educates underprivileged children. He is joined by debutant child star Maahi Rai as Appu, alongside real indie street dogs—Bruno playing Oscar and director Amit Rai’s family dog Oscar playing Momo. The supporting lineup features Rajesh Kumar, Geeta Agarwal Sharma, Pavan Malhotra, and Vijay Mishra.
The narrative connects two parallel plots involving missing individuals and vulnerable animals. In Assam, young Appu searches for his lost indie pup Momo, unraveling a sinister dog-trafficking ring. Concurrently in Bihar, a hound named Oscar tracks the scent of a missing laborer, leading Masterji and local townsfolk to expose an illicit organ-harvesting racket. Notable production assets include striking cinematography by Máté Herbai and an evocative musical score composed by Mangesh Dhakde and Aman Pant.
Production Background, OTT Release, and Public Buzz
The film hit Indian theatres via AA Films on August 7, 2026, following a brief schedule shift. Following its theatrical window, the movie officially transitioned to streaming platforms. Viewers wondering where to watch Ohh My Dog can stream it right now globally on Netflix. The project generated immense goodwill when Pankaj Tripathi revealed he chose to work on the film completely free of charge to champion content-driven, socially conscious cinema alongside director Amit Rai.
Public discourse was further amplified by actor and animal activist John Abraham, who championed a special “Dog Version” trailer. While the theatrical run grossed a modest ₹5 crore, critics praised the feature for spotlighting native Indian indie breeds over glamorous foreign dogs. It delivers an earnest, kid-friendly narrative despite occasional melodramatic conveniences in its runtime.
